Bacon toast from the griddle

Crispy toast with melted grilled cheddar

A bacon toast from the griddle is a quick and incredibly delicious snack from the grill. On the hot plancha or griddle, the toast is cooked until crispy all over, while the cheddar cheese inside slowly melts.

The combination of crispy fried bacon and melted cheese makes this simple recipe a perfect snack for barbecue evenings or as a highlight at the BBQ buffet.

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

4 slices of toast

2–4 slices of Cheddar

12 slices of bacon

Optional: some butter or oil for the grill plate

preparation

1. Prepare the toast

Take two slices of toast and top each with 1-2 slices of cheddar .

Place the second slice of toast on top to create a sandwich.

2. Wrap in bacon

Wrap each slice of toast sandwich completely with several slices of bacon until the bread is fully covered.

The bacon ensures that the toast becomes especially crispy when grilled.

3. Prepare the grill plate

Preheat the griddle or plancha to medium heat .

Optionally, spread some butter or oil on the plate.

4. Grill the toast

Place the bacon toasts on the grill plate.

Fry over medium heat on all sides, turning regularly so that the bacon becomes evenly crispy.

The toast is ready when the bacon is golden brown and crispy and the cheese inside has melted.

Serve

Let the bacon toasts rest briefly and then halve them.

  • Snack from the grill
  • Side dish for BBQ
  • Party food
