Simply prepare fresh popcorn in a fire pot.
Popcorn isn't just for the microwave or a pot – it's also easy to make in a Dutch oven . With just a few ingredients, you can create a crispy snack in minutes, perfect for movie nights, camping trips, or children's birthday parties.
The Dutch oven ensures an even heat distribution, so the corn pops quickly and gets a particularly fresh aroma.
Ingredients (for a medium portion)
2–3 tablespoons of popcorn kernels
1 tbsp oil or coconut fat
1 tbsp sugar (optional for sweet popcorn)
Optional: Cinnamon, caramel, or salt to taste
preparation
1. Prepare the Dutch oven
Preheat the Dutch oven over medium heat.
Pour in the oil or coconut fat and spread it evenly over the base.
The bottom of the pot should be well covered so that the corn kernels are heated evenly.
2. Add popcorn kernels
Put the popcorn kernels in the pot.
The grains should be placed next to each other and not on top of each other , so that they are heated evenly.
3. Pop the popcorn
Place the lid on the Dutch oven.
The lid should not be completely airtight so that steam can escape. Alternatively, briefly lift the lid from time to time.
After a short time, the kernels begin to pop.
4. Finish
As soon as the popping slows down considerably and only a few kernels are popping up, remove the pot from the heat.
Briefly toss the popcorn.
Now add sugar, salt or spices to taste and mix well.
Serve
The popcorn is best enjoyed fresh and warm .
