One-pot pasta with tomato and mozzarella sauce

Quick pasta dish with a Mediterranean flavor

This one-pot pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella is a simple, vegetarian dish for everyday meals. In less than 20 minutes, you'll have a creamy tomato sauce with melted mozzarella and fresh herbs.

This recipe is perfect when you need something quick – with few ingredients and lots of flavor. The dish is particularly successful when prepared in a Cocotte or a large pot, where the flavors can optimally combine.

Ingredients (for 4 people)

500 g linguine

2 cloves garlic

1 large onion

150 g small tomatoes (e.g. cherry tomatoes)

500 ml strained tomatoes

200 g mozzarella

50 ml cream

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

1 pinch of sugar

Salt and pepper

2 tbsp olive oil


Preparation

1. Prepare the ingredients

Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic.

Halve the small tomatoes.

Cut the mozzarella into small pieces.

2. Cook the pasta

Cook the linguine in a large pot with plenty of salted water until al dente, according to package instructions.

Then drain and set aside briefly.

3. Prepare the tomato sauce

Heat olive oil in a large pan or Cocotte.

Sauté the onions and garlic over medium heat until translucent.

Add the halved tomatoes and fry briefly.

Add the strained tomatoes and cream and mix well.

4. Season and refine

Season the sauce with oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.

Stir in the mozzarella and let it melt over low heat.

5. Add pasta

Add the cooked noodles to the sauce and mix everything well.

Heat briefly until the sauce evenly coats the pasta.


Serving

Serve the pasta immediately.

Optionally with:

  • fresh basil
  • grated Parmesan
  • a little olive oil

to refine.
