One-pot pasta with tomato and mozzarella sauce

Quick pasta dish with Mediterranean flavor

This one-pot pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella is a simple, vegetarian dish perfect for everyday meals. In less than 20 minutes, you'll have a creamy tomato sauce with melted mozzarella and fresh herbs.

This recipe is perfect when you're short on time – with few ingredients and lots of flavor. The dish turns out especially well in a cocotte or a large pot , where the flavors meld together perfectly.

Ingredients (for 4 people)

500g linguine

2 cloves of garlic

1 large onion

150 g small tomatoes (e.g. cherry tomatoes)

500 ml passata (strained tomatoes)

200g mozzarella

50 ml cream

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

1 pinch of sugar

salt and pepper

2 tbsp olive oil


preparation

1. Prepare the ingredients

Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic.

Halve the small tomatoes.

Cut the mozzarella into small pieces.

2. Cook the pasta

Cook the linguine in a large pot of plenty of salted water according to the package instructions until al dente.

Then drain and set aside briefly.

3. Prepare the tomato sauce

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan or cocotte.

Sauté the onions and garlic in the pan over medium heat until translucent.

Add the halved tomatoes and sauté briefly.

Add the passata and cream and mix everything well.

4. Seasoning and refining

Season the sauce with oregano, basil, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar.

Stir in the mozzarella and melt over low heat.

5. Add pasta

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix everything well.

Heat briefly until the sauce coats the pasta evenly.


Serve

Serve the pasta immediately.

Optional with:

  • fresh basil
  • grated Parmesan
  • a little olive oil
