With the stainless steel charcoal basket from BBQ-Toro, you can transform your kettle grill into a 3-in-1 kettle grill with different grilling zones. The funnel offers three usage options, two of which allow for "indirect grilling" and one for "direct grilling".

1.) Direct Heat - The Sear Zone
In this method, the funnel is placed in the center of the charcoal grate, with the small opening facing upwards, in a volcanic shape. The charcoal is then distributed inside the funnel. While chimney starters rarely reach 500°C, the "sear zone" approaches approximately 650-700°C. Place your food on the grill grate directly above the "volcano."

2.) Indirect Heat - High Heat Indirect
In this method, the funnel and charcoal are set up exactly the same way as in method "1". The difference lies in the placement of the food. Place your food on the grill grate, but along the edge and not directly over the "volcano". This allows you to grill ideally "indirectly" on your kettle grill. The temperature around the funnel will reach approximately 450–500 °C, depending on the amount and type of charcoal you use.

3.) Indirect Heat - Low Heat Indirect
In this method, the funnel is used upside down, with the large opening facing upwards. The charcoal is then distributed outside the funnel. Now place your food (e.g., beer can chicken) on the grill grate directly above the funnel. The heat is drawn away from the food, allowing it to cook indirectly.
